To promote a healthy management system for Annona cultivation, the TTDARES held the Outstanding Annona Orchard Contest in August 2022. The first phase of the context was an evaluation of orchards, which accounted for 60% of the total score. The judging panel consisted of instructors from the agricultural departments of major institutions. After viewing the orchards in person, they gave scores based on the states of cultivation management, health and safety, and fertilization management. They also picked a few samples of fruit to be sent off for agrochemical residue tests. The second phase was an evaluation of the fruit, accounting for the remaining 40% of the score. The judges looked at exterior appearance, weight, shape, color, and safety. The winner was Lai Xin-rong, second place went to Zhong Chang-long and Song He-mu, and third place went to Xiao Shi-he, Huang Xin-xiong, and Chen Fu-ming. Four other growers were given merit awards. Each of the winners not only exhibited good orchard management but also produced high-quality fruit that met food-safety standards to give consumers peace of mind about what they are buying.
