To help growers obtain information on weather and natural disaster prevention and to promote the safe use of agrochemicals for handling pests and disease, the TTDARES held the Forum on Agricultural Weather Information, Annona Tree Natural Disaster Prevention Techniques, and Safe Use of Agrochemicals in Taimali Township. The forum introduced two weather information apps, “Weather for Daily Life” and “Weather & Agricultural Disaster Prevention,” and disaster prevention techniques. Growers were reminded that since the climate has changed dramatically in recent years, they must watch production season regulation closely and maintain a suitable number of fruit on trees to prevent disaster or at least minimize its effects. Finally, presenters talked about integrated pest and disease control measures and safe agrochemical use, providing growers with a chart on approved agrochemicals and calling on them to follow standards so as to produce safe, high-quality fruit and thereby allow Taitung’s Annona industry steady development.
