To promote the use of the Agriculture Disaster Prevention Line Group (which allows farmers to receive real-time weather and crop disaster prevention information on the instant messaging app Line), enhance the resilience of fruit trees, and reinforce sugar apple pest and disease management techniques, the TTDARES held the Fruit Tree Disaster Prevention Information and Sugar Apple Pest and Disease Integrated Management Techniques Seminar on the morning of August 28, 2024 at the Taimali Farmers’ Association in Taitung County. The use of the Agriculture Disaster Prevention and Weather Information Platform and techniques on preventing/reducing fruit tree damage from natural disasters were discussed at the event. By obtaining timely alerts and making use of appropriate techniques, farmers may reduce losses in the face of natural disasters. In addition, staff from the TTDARES Plant Protection Laboratory discussed techniques for the safe use of agrochemicals to boost sugar apple quality and safety. 52 growers and other people attended and enthusiastically participated in the event.
